1 தாவீது கிழவனும் பூரண வயதுள்ளவனுமானபோது, தன் குமாரனாகிய சாலொமோனை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக்கினான்.

1 So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.

2 இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களையும், ஆசாரியரையும், லேவியரையும் கூடிவரும்படி செய்தான்.

2 And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.

3 அப்பொழுது முப்பது வயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட லேவியர் பேர்பேராக எண்ணப்பட்டார்கள், தலைதலையாக எண்ணப்பட்ட அவர்களுடைய இலக்கம் முப்பத்தெண்ணாயிரம்.

3 Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.

4 அவர்களில் இருபத்துநாலாயிரம்பேர் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையை விசாரிக்கிறவர்களும், ஆறாயிரம்பேர் தலைவரும் மணியகாரருமாயிருக்கவேண்டும் என்றும்,

4 Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:

5 நாலாயிரம்பேர் வாசல் காக்கிறவர்களாயிருக்கவேண்டும் என்றும், துதிசெய்கிறதற்குத் தான் பண்ணுவித்த கீதவாத்தியங்களால் நாலாயிரம்பேர் கர்த்தரைத் துதிக்கிறவர்களாயிருக்கவேண்டும் என்றும் தாவீது சொல்லி,

5 Moreover four thousand were porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, said David, to praise therewith.

6 அவர்களை லேவியின் குமாரராகிய கெர்சோன், கோகாத், மெராரி என்பவர்களுடைய வகுப்புகளின்படி வகுத்தான்.

6 And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, namely, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

7 கெர்சோனியரில், லாதானும், சிமேயும் இருந்தார்கள்.

7 Of the Gershonites were, Laadan, and Shimei.

8 லாதானின் குமாரர், யெகியேல், சேத்தாம், யோவேல் என்னும் மூன்றுபேர்; இவர்களில் முந்தினவன் தலைமையாயிருந்தான்.

8 The sons of Laadan; the chief was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.

9 சிமேயின் குமாரர், செலோமித், ஆசியேல், ஆரான் என்னும் மூன்றுபேர்; இவர்கள் லாதான் வம்சப் பிதாக்களில் தலைமையாயிருந்தார்கள்.

9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the chief of the fathers of Laadan.

10 யகாத், சீனா, எயூஷ், பெரீயா என்னும் நாலுபேரும் சிமேயின் குமாரராயிருந்தார்கள்.

10 And the sons of Shimei were, Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.

11 யாகாத் தலைமையாயிருந்தான்; சீனா இரண்டாம் குமாரனாயிருந்தான்; எயூஷுக்கும் பெரீயாவுக்கும் அநேகம் குமாரர் இராதபடியினால், அவர்கள் பிதாக்களின் குடும்பத்தாரில் ஒரே வம்சமாக எண்ணப்பட்டார்கள்.

11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they were in one reckoning, according to their father's house.

12 கோகாத்தின் குமாரர் அம்ராம், இத்சார், எப்ரோன், ஊசியேல் என்னும் நாலுபேர்.

12 The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

13 அம்ராமின் குமாரர், ஆரோன், மோசே என்பவர்கள்; ஆரோனும் அவன் குமாரரும் பரிசுத்தத்திற்குப் பரிசுத்தமான ஸ்தலத்தை என்றைக்கும் பரிசுத்தமாய்க் காக்கிறதற்கும், என்றைக்கும் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக தூபங்காட்டுகிறதற்கும், அவருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்கிறதற்கும், அவர் நாமத்திலே ஆசீர்வாதம் கொடுக்கிறதற்கும் பிரித்துவைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

13 The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.

14 தேவனுடைய மனுஷனாகிய மோசேயின் குமாரரோவெனில், லேவிகோத்திரத்தாருக்குள் எண்ணப்பட்டார்கள்.

14 Now concerning Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.

15 மோசேயின் குமாரர், கெர்சோம், யேசர் என்பவர்கள்.

15 The sons of Moses were, Gershom, and Eliezer.

16 கெர்சோமின் குமாரரில் செபுவேல் தலைமையாயிருந்தான்.

16 Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel was the chief.

17 எலியேசருடைய குமாரரில் ரெகபியா என்னும் அவன் குமாரன் தலைமையாயிருந்தான்: எலியேசருக்கு வேறே குமாரர் இல்லை, ரெகபியாவின் குமாரர் அநேகராயிருந்தார்கள்.

17 And the sons of Eliezer were, Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had none other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.

18 இத்சேரின் குமாரரில் செலோமித் தலைமையாயிருந்தான்.

18 Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.

19 எப்ரோனின் குமாரரில் எரியா என்பவன் தலைமையாயிருந்தான்; இரண்டாவது அமரியா, மூன்றாவது யாகாசியேல் நாலாவது எக்காமியாம்.

19 Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

20 ஊசியேலின் குமாரரில் மீகா என்பவன் தலைமையாயிருந்தான்; இரண்டாவது இஷியா.

20 Of the sons of Uzziel; Micah the first and Jesiah the second.

21 மெராரியின் குமாரர், மகேலி, மூசி என்பவர்கள்; மகேலியின் குமாரர், எலெயாசார், கீஸ் என்பவர்கள்.

21 The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.

22 எயொசார் மரிக்கிறபோது, அவனுக்குக் குமாரத்திகளே அல்லாமல் குமாரர் இல்லை; கீசின் குமாரராகிய இவர்களுடைய சகோதரர் இவர்களை விவாகம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.

23 மூசியின் குமாரர், மகலி, ஏதேர், எரேமோக் என்னும் மூன்றுபேர்.

23 The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.

24 தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய குடும்பங்களின்படியே, பிதாக்களில் தலைமையாயிருந்த லேவி புத்திரரின் பேர்டாப்பின்படியே, தலைதலையாக எண்ணப்பட்ட இருபது வயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட இவர்களுடைய சந்ததியார் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துப் பணிவிடையைச் செய்தார்கள்.

24 These were the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; even the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.

25 இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது ஜனத்தை இளைப்பாறியிருக்கப்பண்ணினார்; அவர் என்றென்றைக்கும் எருசலேமில் வாசம்பண்ணுவாரென்றும்,

25 For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:

26 இனி லேவியர் வாசஸ்தலத்தையாகிலும் அதின் ஊழியத்திற்கடுத்த அதின் பணிமுட்டுகளில் எதையாகிலும் சுமக்கத்தேவையில்லை என்றும்,

26 And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.

27 தாவீது அவர்களைக் குறித்துச்சொன்ன கடைசி வார்த்தைகளின்படியே, லேவி புத்திரரில் தொகைக்குட்பட்டவர்கள் இருபதுவயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்.

27 For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:

28 அவர்கள் ஆரோனுடைய குமாரரின் கீழ்க் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் ஊழியமாய் நின்று, பிராகாரங்களையும், அறைகளையும், சகல பரிசுத்த பணிமுட்டுகளின் சுத்திகரிப்பையும், தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் ஆராதனைக்கடுத்த வேலையையும் விசாரிப்பதும்,

28 Because their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

29 சமுகத்தப்பங்களையும், போஜனபலிக்கு மெல்லிய மாவையும், புளிப்பில்லாத அதிரசங்களையும், சட்டிகளிலே செய்கிறதையும் சுடுகிறதையும், திட்டமான சகல நிறையையும் அளவையும் விசாரிப்பதும்,

29 Both for the shewbread, and for the fine flour for meat offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;

30 நாள்தோறும் காலையிலும் மாலையிலும் கர்த்தரைப் போற்றித் துதித்து, ஓய்வுநாட்களிலும், அமாவாசைகளிலும், பண்டிகைகளிலும், கர்த்தருக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகள் செலுத்தப்படுகிற சகல வேளைகளிலும்,

30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even:

31 இலக்கத்திற்குள்ளான அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டபடியே, எப்பொழுதும் அந்தப் பிரகாரமாய்ச் செய்ய, கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நிற்பதும்,

31 And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:

32 ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் காவலையும் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தின் காவலையும் தங்கள் சகோதரராகிய ஆரோனுடைய குமாரரின் காவலையும் காப்பதும், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் பணிவிடையைச் செய்வதும் அவர்கள் வேலையாயிருந்தது.

32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
