17.  கர்த்தரின் பணிவிடைக்காராகிய ஆசாரியர்கள் மண்டபத்துக்கும் பலிபீடத்துக்கும் நடுவே அழுது: கர்த்தாவே, நீர் உமது ஜனத்தைத் தப்பவிட்டுப் புறஜாதிகள் அவர்களைப் பழிக்கும் நிந்தைக்கு உமது சுதந்தரத்தை ஒப்புக்கொடாதிரும்; உங்கள் தேவன் எங்கே என்று புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே சொல்லப்படுவானேன் என்பார்களாக.

17.  Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
