1.  யோசேப்பு எகிப்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டான். பார்வோனுடைய பிரதானியும் தலையாரிகளுக்கு அதிபதியுமாகிய போத்திபார் என்னும் எகிப்து தேசத்தான் அவனை அவ்விடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்த இஸ்மவேலரிடத்தில் வாங்கினான்.

1.  And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmaelites, which had brought him down thither.
