3.  அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: எபிரெயருடைய தேவன் எங்களைச் சந்தித்தார்; நாங்கள் வனாந்தரத்தில் மூன்றுநாள் பிரயாணம் போய், எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பலியிடும்படி போகவிடவேண்டும்; போகாதிருந்தால், அவர் கொள்ளை நோயும் பட்டயமும் எங்கள் மேல் வரப்பண்ணுவார் என்றார்கள்.

3.  And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.
