8.  ஜனத்துக்கு விரோதமாய் ஜனமும், ராஜ்யத்துக்கு விரோதமாய் ராஜ்யமும் எழும்பும்; பூமியதிர்ச்சிகளும் பல இடங்களில் உண்டாகும், பஞ்சங்களும் கலகங்களும் உண்டாகும்; இவைகள் வேதனைகளுக்கு ஆரம்பம்.

8.  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
